When a designer or agency joins your business, begin with access planning. Meta’s Page help says a person with full control can manage other people’s Page access. This guide was reviewed on 15 October 2026. Our operating recommendation is to grant the access needed for an agreed job and document it.
List the assets and the real owners
Create an inventory of the Page, Instagram account, ad account, website domain and recovery email. Record the business owner and the person currently responsible for each. Investigate unfamiliar administrators before adding another collaborator; an old employee’s email should not be the only route to an important asset.
Define the job before the invitation
Describe whether the collaborator will create content, answer messages, inspect reports or manage ads. Use the relevant access controls visible in the account and read what each permission allows. Ask the owner to approve consequential changes. Never send a login password or verification code in a project chat.
Make handover a written routine
For example, a hypothetical shop appoints one employee to prepare posts and another to approve offers. Its agency receives the agreed advertising access, while the owner keeps oversight. A short handover note lists pending drafts, scheduled promotions, campaign dates and where approved brand files are stored.
Review access when work changes
When a contract ends or an employee changes role, review permissions promptly and confirm business continuity before removing access. Test the recovery arrangements with the owner. Keep the record current instead of assuming that an invitation accepted months ago still reflects today’s responsibilities.
- Who owns each asset?
- What work is each person allowed to do?
- Who approves spending and public offers?
- What changes when the collaboration ends?
